VOLUNTEERING

Pacific Alliance Youth Volunteering Program

voluntario2016

In order to continue developing a deep integration area and move forward toward the free movement of goods, services, capital and people within the framework of the Pacific Alliance (PA), the governments from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru open the third call for the Project on Youth Volunteering. This aims to provide continuity to the efforts to promote an experiential exchange through activities that create a solidarity behaviour in young people that has a positive impact on society, keeping in mind that young people are key actors in the region.

In this particular stage of their lives, young people are socially molded into citizens, subject to rights and duties, becoming concerned about their roles in society, developing a moral and civic awareness and taking decisions affecting their own future. An active and effective participation in this volunteering experience has an impact not only on their formation as citizens by reinforcing their knowledge and their working and social skills, but also on their communities and the adjacent towns. A society that supports and encourages the different facets of the volunteering program is a society that promotes the well-being of all of its citizens.

This volunteering project is aimed to young people from 18 to 30 years old, citizens of the member countries of the Pacific Alliance that reside in their country of origin at the time of application. The volunteering activities will be performed for a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of four weeks (one month). The hosting country will define the theme in which the foreign volunteers will participate, this can be consulted in each country’s specific call.

Pacific Alliance Youth Volunteering Project

Selected candidates by country

The Pacific Alliance Youth Volunteering pilot project received 1,084 candidacies for its third series, from which 48 young individuals from the four countries were selected winners. Each of the member countries of the Pacific Alliance selected the 12 best profiles to participate in the project.

The Pacific Alliance Technical Group on Cooperation salutes all those young individuals selected in this call, who will have the opportunity to conduct activities designed to contribute to the strengthening of regional integration and local development on behalf of their countries.

To access the list of individuals selected by country, click on the desired country’s tab.

Each country’s program principal will shortly contact each of the winners to request any additional documents required for their files.
